We have a new address! The building at 45 Wall Street is being torn down to make way for the New York Stock Exchange of the future. A sixty-story, block square structure that will require years of construction, but when it is completed, the skyscraper will set new standards for communication technology excellence. In the meantime, we have relocated to 110 Wall Street and have taken the 15th floor. Everything else about our coordinates has remained the same and we are looking forward to seeing you soon in the new digs.   (This was written before September 11, 2001. After having the City of New York and various of its agencies coughed up almost $1 billion in tax incentives and cash and after the City of New York acquired the square block directly east of the Exchange condemning the properties and scattering the companies about like flies in a windstorm; the terrorists struck. Then Exchange Chairman Grasso determined that in spite of years of negotiating and the substantial money involved along with numerous fringe benefits, a tall building housing the New York Stock Exchange would become too inviting a target for terrorists. The plans were canceled and the acquired buildings remained vacant. As this goes to press, Exchange and City Officials appear to remain stultified and unable to coup with these exigencies.)

About Us

The principals of Chapman Spira and Carson have been on Wall Street as a group for over 100 years. the firm's members have had five seats on the New York Stock Exchange and have been members of all major American Exchanges. Associates have served in various capacities with the American Stock Exchange and the National Association of Security Dealers (NASD) as well. One of our principals was a founding member of the American Commodities Exchange and the New York Futures Exchange

Our executives have acted as CEO or CFO of over a dozen Sizeable financially oriented firms and have acted as consultants for the United Nations, Congress, Depository Trust Company and several of the largest banks in the country. In several cases our principals are recognized as the authorities in certain esoteric areas of securities trading and have both testified before government bodies and written treatises on their particular subjects. Numerous books and articles have also been produced by our staff enumerating business risks in Third World countries. Many of these are available free to our readers and our located in the point of view section located on the our home page.

In addition, from time to time, certain subjects arise that are highly controversial and Chapman will often receive requests from clients relative to our views on these developments. By clicking on the various articles appearing on the Chapman Spira home page, you will be able to receive an in depth perspective on a broad range of subjects. For example, our narrative of international geopolitics is direct, amusing and a no-holds barred description of what is really going on around the world of finance.

Among the other recent additions is the hair raising story about what is really going on in North Korea, how diamonds are responsible for substantial human suffering and what is happening to many of our global treasures. Also available for the asking is probably the must incisive look at the accounting industry ever written. This is the story entitled Accounting, Accounting, Accounting which, although written substantially before Enron and others frauds of this kind occurred, describes in gory detail how the major accounting firms in the United States have often conspired with their clients to "cook the books" causing massive losses to investors. Governmental agencies seem either hamstrung or unwilling to do anything about this ongoing disaster.
